Comber is important cotton spinning equipment. The article describes another new multi axis drive comber based on virtual master, ECAM, EtherCAT bus technology through the analysis of the motion mechanism of comber to improve the traditional comber. And to establish the process database for different kinds of income cotton the new comber is more flexible. It is easy to change the product process through the HMI operate. Multi axis drive comber can push the combing’s performance including machine higher velocity, better quality, less income cotton, fit more kinds of cotton fiber, operate and maintain much more conveniently.The combing mainly contains nipper and separation roller coordinate movement with cylinder. It is particularly difficult and important that high acceleration movement of the separation roller and the heavy nipper load. Optimize the movement of separation roll to improve the higher velocity and precision. Optimize the load of nipper mechanism is another key issue. The article is written from the motion control system. The focus is the ECAM application on the relative axis, and multi axis follow virtual master synchronous.
