With the development of the manufacturing technology and precisionmeasuring technology, the shortcomings and insufficiency of the raditionalmanual measurement methods and the automation offline measurement methodswith three coordinate measuring machine for representative appear gradually.Manual measurement means that the workers using the traditional manualmeasuring instrument to measure the processing quality and data of the processedsurface in the contact way, and then come with an artificial calculation and dataprocessing. In this way we will not only waste a significant amount of time butalso receive a low accuracy. And the working style of three coordinate measuringmachine is offline measurement, the workpiece needs to be clamped many timesin the whole process of the measurement, in such way it will not only cost thetime but also increases error links. Nowadays Manufacturing is developing inhigh speed towards the direction of faster and more accuracy. The machineretrieve measurement system makes up for the above two kinds of theshortcomings of the methods, and improves the efficiency and accuracy of thenumerical control machine fundamentally.This article mainly bases on the domestic and foreign development andproject requirement, we realize the machine measuring by the measurement ofhead and the signal receiving device which are installed on the numerical controlmachine. This article firstly introduces the composition, working principle andthe principle of measurement of the head of the NC machine briefly, and we havediscussed the method of automatical generate measurement program according tothe different characteristics of tested object. And develop a software which is based on VC++and UG Open Grip by this method.First, in order to get the real measured values, must compensationcalculation for measured ball radius of the probe, because the surface of themeasuring is free-form surface, Combined with the commonly used coordinatemeasuring machine probe radius compensation algorithm, Developed a new Free-form surface measurement probe radius compensation algorithm with highprecision and operations and computational complexity. Combination with thenew probe radius compensation algorithm select the measurement points,designed to measure the track, select the measurement, the preparation of themeasurement procedures to be according to the workpiece.Based on the above measurement methods combined with the VC++forsecondary development of UG to developed an efficient real-time measurementsoftware in the machine. It have the function of achieve establish and importmodel, choice of measurement point simulation test of the measurementtrajectory auto-write and transmission of the measurement procedure,transmission and analysis of measurement results, generation of measurementreports. By the measuring test, the feasibility and accuracy of the abovemeasuring methods have been verified. By using this on machine verificationmethod, improve the CNC machining efficiency and precision fundamentally to acertain extent, the production cost savings for enterprises, improve the rate ofqualified products.
