By modern steelmaking technology and converter process limit, the whole levelof automation is not high in most of China’s steel industry. Although the basicautomation is realized in steel production, some specific process still requires manualoperation and it is inefficiency. The ladle’s tracking and dispatching is one importantpart in steel production. As the iron means of transport, the whole operation process isrelated with ladle. Most iron and steel enterprises are based on the artificialscheduling in China. The information delivers slowly, and the instruction efficiency islow. As a result, the output can’t catch up with the market demand. At last, it is notconducive to the sustainable development of iron and steel enterprises.One thing is that how to mange the ladle’s track and dispatch effectively andscientifically. Another is that realizing the maximum automation and raising theoperating efficiency. All of them are key topics for research. The way that buildingreal-time ladle tracking and scheduling system is effective. Tracking the status andlocation is the key. Because the industrial field is complex and noisy, the traditionalmonitor and interphone can’t meet workers make a decision fast. Aiming at theabove-mentioned problems, the paper analyses the current problems and discusses theladle tracking and scheduling system and technical solution is proposed. It provideimportant data for converter and casting.The paper is based on the application of computer in industrial automation. RFIDand wireless network technology are used to research the ladle tracking and scheduletechnology. The system designed by the actual production situation must conform tothe enterprise. It can supply data exchange between terminal and server. Tracking thecrane by RFID can locate the ladle indirectly. A feasible scheduling scheme could bemade according the process requirements and the constraint condition. The finalpurpose is to realize efficient logistics production and reduce energy consumption. Italso can help make auxiliary work. At last, it brings good product quality andimproves the economy benefit of the enterprise.
