This subject comes from the2011"The project of tutor fund of Gansu provincial Department of Education":Research on the intermittent cutting technology and wear mechanism of PCBN cutting tool (special No.:1102ZTC107).The interrupted cutting processing can be often met in the actual machining. Relative to the continuous cutting processing, the cutting tool sustained continuously alternating loads due to frequently cutting work-piece. With high hardness, thermal and chemical stability, so PCBN is an ideal cutting tool material as cutting high hardness. However, when cutting the high hardness steel by the PCBN cutting tool, the tool will be also failure intensified because of being used improperly, resulting in reduced processing efficient and processing costs increase. Therefore, this paper through analyzing the orthogonal and single factor experiments of interrupted cutting hardened steel by PCBN cutting tool to research the influence on the performance of interrupted cutting with different cutting parameters, providing theoretical guidance for the rational use PCBN tool to interruptly cut hardened steel.This paper through studying the orthogonal and single factor experiments of interrupted cutting hardened steel by PCBN cutting tool, the purpose was to improve the efficiency and quality of interrupted cutting hardened steel by PCBN tool, use the experimental and theoretical analysis methods to study the performance of interrupted cutting hardened steel by PCBN cutting tool, the details as follows:1. Through analyzing the orthogonal experiment data with the way of variance analysis, obtained the significant degree of cutting parameters to the transient impact and quasistatic cutting force in interrupted cutting hardened steel. And through analyzing the data with the way of regression analysis, establishing the index prediction model of the transient impact and quasistatic cutting force.2. Through analyzing the single factor experiment data, obtained the affecting trends of the three-component forces and composition of forces of the transient impact and quasistatic cutting force. And comparing to the forecast data and the experimental data, verify the accuracy of the prediction model of the quasi-static force and transient impact.3. Through analyzing the SEM and EDS of tools after the single factor experiment with different cutting speeds, obtained the failure modes and wear mechanisms of tools under different cutting speeds. 4. According to the goals of the maximum productivity and minimum transient impact to optimize the cutting parameters of interrupted cutting hardened steel by PCBN cutting tool. The selection of the constraint is the surface roughness of different work-piece on the precision finishing condition, Genetic Algorithms(GA) was used to solve the equation, finally the reasonable cutting parameters were obtained on the hardened steel cutting process of interrupted cutting under different precision.
