Human body mannequin acted as an essential tool and carrier in the process of Draping. At the same time, It also played an important role in clothing production, inspection and evaluation. As a result, whether the mannequin is standard or not directly affect the fitness of clothing. This article is based on the early study of the virtual average human body system. We developed a standard intermediate model calculating system using certain modeling method under the environment of MATLAB program. The following are the related modeling method and the system development process:In the virtual average human body system, extracting the feature parts for all the human body samples, finishing the related matrix, doing the regression analysis to all samples in MATLAB software programme, we obtained the linear relationship between the feature parts with height, bust circumference. So the size of feature parts of the standard intermediate mannequin can be known. The feature parts include neck circumference, shoulder circumference, armpit circumference, bust circumference, under bust girth, waist circumference, hip circumference, crotch circumference, neck height, shoulder height, armpit height, bust height, under-bust height, waist height, hip height, crotch height.The shape factor adjustment is the mathematical model between human body data points and the feature sizes which introduced a shape factor r to establish. Shape factor r in the feature circumference can be obtained by using generalized least squares. The adjustment of the feature circumference is equal to the incremental of the corresponding data points of average body model. For the adjustment of the middle layer, the adjustment use the points of the corresponding recent feature (nearby principle). The interval of layers scaled by the numerical of feature parts.In this paper, a scale model is set up. with the feature circumference of the average body as a template C, according to the feature circumference of the standard intermediate mannequin C’, we get the adjusting proportion C/C’. The radial coordinate of the control points on the feature circumference is accordingly adjusted (according to theorem of proportion by addition and subtraction). The adjustment of the middle layer can be get by the cubic spline interpolation, according to a linear relationship with human body size and feature parts. Height direction is the same as the shape factor adjustment.In this paper, by means of the analysis of the principle of curved surface modeling, the standard intermediate model was constructed by non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) surface modeling technology. Firstly, the layer date of standard intermediate point cloud model is arranged by the direction of the counter-clock. Then, using NURBS curve to fit all rows of the sequence of each layer data, NURBS curve model is set up respectively. According to each layer of the NURBS curve,50control points are reversed out. At last, the intermediate standard models are establish by the NURBS surface, after getting the control points of U and V direction. Installing NURBS tool box in MATLAB environment, we can accurately and easily realize the surface modeling and the resulting standard intermediate model.In MATLAB, the above two standard models compare with average body model from the perspective of quantitative. We can get the accuracy of two models. The indicators of precision is RMSE and R-square. Under the experimental data, the standard intermediate model from the shape factor adjustment is the optimal model.In the standard intermediate model system, we input into the new human body data and get a new standard intermediates. Finally, this paper obtained the expected standard intermediate model. it verifies the applicability of the standard intermediate model system.The standard intermediate model system development in this paper, on the basis of average body system in the early stage of the research team, can realize below factions: calculating the function of feature parts of the standard intermediate model; choosing the shape factor adjustment and the scale model and get the standard intermediate point cloud model; obtaining the NURBS surface model and the model simulation by NURBS surface fitting; In addition, the system can realize the precision analysis, section extraction, comparison between standard models, standard models and average model and so on.The system can rapidly and accurately get the standard intermediate mannequin. The establishment of the system has a positive role in promoting standard industrial and virtual parametric mannequin, as well as the virtual clothing in electronic commerce. The standard intermediate mannequin getting from the samples has certain reference significance for the supplement and correction to the existing standard mannequin. It provides the basis for the fiting of garment production and has the vital significance to the clothing industry and enterprise.
