With the non-renewable energy sources being depleted, energy conservationcatches more and more attention around the world. In China, building energyconsumption increased significantly year after year, accounting for32%of nationalenergy consumption. To reduce energy consumption, the policy of low energyconsumption, low emissions, low pollution, low-carbon economy has beenimplemented. Building energy conservation plays an important role in low-carboneconomy. More than51%of building energy consumption is used on windows anddoors, which are the main part of buildings. An important way of reducing energyconsumption is to improve the thermal insulation effect of windows. Nowadaysbuilding insulation glass includes Low-E glass, hollow glass, vacuum glass, amongwhich, the Low-E glass is most widely applied. All those glass can block some solarradiation effectively, but they cannot reach the desired heat insulation effect. Thisthesis talks about glass made by TiO2,SiO2and ATO, which has ideal heat insulationeffect. Nano ATO powder can effectively block the infrared, while SiO2-TiO2caneffectively block the near-infrared light. The combination of ATO and SiO2-TiO2canachieve the desired heat insulation effect. In summer, it can block solar infraredradiation, and in winter, it can keep indoor objects far infrared radiation to stayindoors.This thesis focuses on thin film system SiO2-TiO2(G (HL)^7H L1.3(HL)^7HAIR) designed with TFC thin film design software, which can cut off infrared andtransmit visible light. First, basic principles of thin film are introduced. Second, TiO2and SiO2thin films are deposited on Si and glass substrates by DC magnetronsputtering, and the real refractive index of TiO2and SiO2is computed by relatedtheory. Third, how to compute and increase cutoff-band and how to cut down theripper of pass-band are discussed. Last, thin film system G (HL)^7H L1.3(HL)^7HAIR is designed by TFC.This thesis studies coating ATO/SiO2-TiO2. First of all, transparent thermalinsulation coating is prepared by using nano ATO and waterborne polyurethane. Theeffect of thickness and curing temperature on the light transmission, shadingcoefficient are discussed. Visible Light Transmittance is also studied. Secondly, transparent thermal coating is prepared by QXG on glass which has already depositedSiO2-TiO2multilayer through DC sputtering. Light transmission, visible lighttransmittance, shading coefficient are also discussed. Thirdly, The ATO/SiO2-TiO2’sthermal insulation is tested through heat-insulation performance test device. Therange of temperature is more than12℃.
