In this thesis, synthesis conditions and influencing factors of the epoxy resin foamperformance were studied and approached. To find out the optimum condition and processof the synthesis of epoxy resin foam with inorganically-foamed at room temperature,which is the key problems that would be solved in this experiment. Based on the synthesisof the high combination properties of epoxy resin foam, the research of foamingdispensation was conducted. Meanwhile, the foaming structure, the mechanical propertiesand the thermal stability of the foam were analyzed.In the experiment, the bisphenol A type epoxy resin was used as basal material,epoxy resin foam was synthesized through tacking on blowing agent, curing agent,surfactants and filler, etc. The kinds of curing agent influence on the foaming time anddensity were studied. Results showed that polyamide curing agent was suitable forpreparing epoxy resin foam compared with divinyl three amine curing agent. On thepremise of determining the dosage of blowing agent and curing agent, we investigated thedosage of blowing agent and curing agent impacting on the density, water absorbingcapacity and pore structure of foamed plastics. When the polyamide curing agent wasequal to16%, and the blowing agent was equal to20%, the density of foam and thebibulous rate of system is lower. Finally,in accordance with the orthogonal experiment,we explored the optimal ratio of the dosage of the preparation of epoxy foam. Whenfoaming agent was equal to20%, solidify agent was equal to16%, surfactants was equal to30%and packing was equal to10%, combination property of foam was comparativelygood.The mechanical properties of the epoxy resin foam was tested by using universaltensile testing machine. The bending stress, stretching stress and compressive stress of theepoxy resin foam was35MPa,5MPa and3.6MPa, respectively. By testing the oxygenindex of the foam resin to measure the retardant performance. The oxygen index of epoxyresin foam increased with apparent density from27to34, which exhibited that theretardant performance of the foam was relatively good. The thermodynamic proper of epoxy resin foam was studied by TGA analyzer. Foam began to decompose at100℃, andreached its thermal maximum weight loss rate at300℃.
