Nowadays, the people pay more attentions to the living environments, and want to have the "right to know". In the recent ten years, with the attention increasingly given to environmental protection, financial funding from avarious governments increased every year. In this context, Urban air quality system (UAQS) emerges as required.This system focus on monitoring air quanlity. Meanwhile, through optimizing monitoring sites to establish an available monitoring and control system. It finally achieved real-time air quality monitoring and information management, which made a change in ambient air quality management for Jinan city, namely, from passive monitoring to active surveillance. The system is helpful to provide decision support for environmental management.The system is an ambient air monitoring and management information system based on B/S structure by Microsoft.Net and Oracle. The system was divided into surveillance monitoring, historical data query, data review, statistical analysis, Web publishing, basic information management, including interface design, database concepts and logical structure design.The system utilized Internet technology and other advanced IT technology, through the establishment of network connections among environmental monitoring center, urban air sites, bring the urban air sites, which were geographically distributed throughout the city into the monitoring network. The real-time data of environmental factors collected from urban air quality monitoring equipment were then transferred to Municipal Environmental Monitoring Center. The uninterrupted real-time monitoring, data processing and statistical analysis have been achieved for these cities air quality monitoring sites in this center. The system can expand the number of urban air monitoring sites and surveillance items, so that the whole system has good scalability and flexibility of data transmission using GPRS/CDMA/ADSL/broadband networks and other sophisticated communication protocols.The system The development and implementation of the monitoring and control system, which wasis an effective, convenient and safe system,.
