In the field of mechanical engineering and aerospace, it is required that the material shoud have high strength and structure processability, as well as wear resistance、 high temperature resistance and heat shock resistance . It can be solved efficiently if compositing method is adopted to produce material,which has ceramic layer on one side(wear resistance、 high temperature resistance) and metal layer on the other side (structure processability),between the two layers there are some gradient layers,then,the material has both the excellent properties of ceramic and metal,some problems like heat expand coefficient mismatch can be also be settled availably to meet the practical appliance .In this thesis,the optimal sintering process was got first after comparing the properties such as shrink ratio、 relative density、 bending strength、 microhardness of ZrO2/316L unique composites under three different kinds of sintering process . Then, the microscopic structure and fractography was studied . As a consequence,the unique composites under 1350℃ sintering at vacuum have better structure and properties,they can be divided into two kinds of composites-metal matrix composites and ceramic matrix composites .ZrO2/316L functionally gradient material which have 25vol.% gradient change and thickness can be controlled was fabricated on the base of fabrication and properties study of ZrO2/316L unique composites,then,some kinds of properties like microscopic structure、 fractography and microhardness were studied.Finally, ZrO2/316L functionally gradient material shows specific gradient change in macrograph and components continuous change in microstructure,all components distribute uniformity and dispersionless,there was no obvious macroscopical interface between gradient layers,crack and big hole was not found either,gradient layers combined firmly.
