Solid-liquid two-phase flow centrifugal pump is one of the important equipment whichtransport the solid-liquid mixture. Solid-liquid pump is widely used in various fields ofproduction and life, such as urban water supply, petrochemical transportation, dredging,agricultural irrigation and other aspects. However, with the extensive application of solid-liquidpump, there are many problems in practical engineering application. Flow components wornbadly, running off-design conditions lead to excessive energy consumption and low efficiencyproblem. Taking into account the complexity of two-phase flow, theoretical studies and design ofhydraulic machinery still have much room to improve and law of the solid-liquid two-phase flowshould to be studied in depth and system. Most of the design engineering practice is to rely onthe experience, therefor it is hard to ensure design well hydraulic performance pump. It is verymeaningful to study the internal flow of the pump in depth combining the method of numericalsimulation and experimental study, which provide a theoretical reference for the design ofhigh-performance, stable operation and low power consumption of solid-liquid pumps.Through combining method of experimental testing and numerical simulation forcentrifugal pump water flow field in this paper, the experimental and calculated results wereanalyzed.The main contents of the paper are as follows.1. Centrifugal numerical analysis under water multiple conditions. Numerical results werecompared with experimental which reveals the distribution of the flow field inside the pump.2. From the nature departure of solid phase particles, this article studied particle motion,distribution in the pump and wear mechanism. These factors influence on the pump externalcharacteristics were obtained by calculating.3. Calculating centrifugal pump solid-liquid two-phase unsteady flow, the solid particlemotion, wear of flow components and the change of the external characteristics at different timeswere obtained.
