The questionnaire survey of Indoor Humidity effect with Childhood Asthma andAnaphylactic Disease at was conducted at Chongqing University in November2011.The aim of this survey was to investigate indoor humidity had effect on childhoodasthma and anaphylactic disease. Seminar members surveyed the situation of housingenvironment, childhood asthma and anaphylactic disease for4950children under age of3to6in53kindergartens in three main districts of Chongqing by anonymousself-administered questionnaire. Finally, the feedback rate of inventory survey was74.5%.The results of inventory survey have shown that the indoor humidity environmentof Chongqing children is harsh, and the percentage of indoor visible mould, damp stains,water leakage, condensation on window, and moldy odor respectively is5.0%,7.9%,8.4%,12.8%, and11.6%. Adopting contingency table obviously verified thatconstruction time of home was associated with indoor visible mould, damp stains, waterleakage, condensation on window, and moldy odor.According to adjust the impact results of children sex, age, family history ofallergies, pets, passive smoking and breastfeeding duration, result show that indoorvisible mould was associated with wheeze (OR~Aï¼1.258-2.317), rhinitis (OR~Aï¼1.088-1.900)〠doctor-diagnosed rhinitis (OR~Aï¼1.335-3.239). Damp stains wasassociated with wheeze (OR~Aï¼1.131-1.896), eczema (OR~Aï¼1.390-2.429). Waterleakage was associated with wheeze(OR~Aï¼1.167-1.925), cough at night (OR~Aï¼1.048-1.763), eczema (OR~Aï¼1.035-1.863), doctor-diagnosed asthma (OR~Aï¼1.210-2.357), doctor-diagnosed rhinitis (OR~Aï¼1.058-2.307). Condensation on windowwas associated with cough at night (OR~Aï¼1.042-1.618), rhinitis (OR~Aï¼1.095-1.584),doctor-diagnosed rhinitis (OR~Aï¼1.121-2.186). Moldy odor was associated with wheeze(OR~Aï¼1.286-2.041), cough at night (OR~Aï¼1.219-1.959), rhinitis (OR~Aï¼1.121-1.686),eczema (OR~Aï¼1.014-1.781). |
