Objective To study the relationship between the calcitonin gene relatedpeptide (CGRP)content in brachial plexus and spasmodic muscles. Methods The16Wistar rats which were injured right cerebral cortex werediveded into2groups (8rats in each group):the experiment group were receivedselective left brachial plexus rhizotomy and the control group were not treated.TheCGRP in brachial plexus was examined by using immunohistochemical method andthe biceps musele tension was evaluated by electrophysiology measurement at20thday after rhizotomy. Meanwhile, observed the nerve symptom and assessed spasm offlexion elbow muscles on left foreleg after rhizotomy. Results The CGRP in left brachial plexus was significantly higher inexperiment group(7122.58±1697.72m2) than in control group(6613.96±1433.59m2)(P<0.05) and spasm of limbs was improved after rhizotomy. Conclusion The treatment mechanism of selective brachial plexus rhizotomyfor myospasm resulting from cerebrum injury may be related to increase the localcontent of CGRP. |
