ObjectiveTo analyze the common complications of lumbar vertebral surgery, investigate the strategys of prevention and treatment.MethodsA retrospective study of568patients who had been performed lumbar vertebral surgery from January2010to December2010in Shanxi Medical University Second Hospital. There were352males and216females. Their age ranged form16to76years(average,46.8years). There were317cases of lumbar disc herniation,102cases of lumbar spinal stenosis,56cases of lumbar spondylolisthesis,98cases of lumbar fracture-dislocation,21cases of lumbar tuberculosis,26cases of lumbar tumor,16cases of ankylosing spondylitis.Results59cases of these568patients had the complications after lumbar vertebral surgery, All patients were followed up for6to24months (average14months).59patients, developed all kinds of complications,4cases with acute epidural hematoma,18cases with implant failure(including looseness and breakage of internal fixation and cage migration),15cases with cerebrospinal fluid leakage,3cases with infection,8cases with nerve injury,11cases with deep vein thrombosis.Conclusion1. In lumbar intraoperative, the appearance of internally installment disabled is very usually, the rigorous machining and fixed stabled of built-inment is vital.2.The risk about epidural hematoma is extremely senior, times in dealing the disabled, the nerve function of recover after epidural hematoma is very well.3.
