Objective:To study two important Indicators of iron metabolism in the patients with T2DM,Including the levels of SF and TRF and Hep levels of epinephrine.To purpose to observe the changes in iron metabolism in patients with T2DM and analyze its correlation with other clinical metabolic and biochemical indexes.Methods:History of diabetes mellitus for5years or less and based on standards of WHO in1999,60patients with T2DM were divided into two groups, and56healthy subjects as control group. At the same time,FINS,FPG,blood lipid,blood pressure,height,weight,waistline and hip circumference were measured,UA and WHR, BMI were also calculated. Glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA|C) was measured in diabetic group, additionally. The serunl SF, TRF and Hep were measured with enzyme-linked immunoassay sorbent assay(ELIS A). Insulin resistant index(HOMA-IR)and pfunction(HOMA(3-cell)were calculated by HOMA formula. Respectively analyzed serum SF, TRF and hepcidin was inersely associated with HOMA-IR, HOMAp-cell, TG, HbAlc, correlation index of FPG, FINS, etc. We also analyzed the correlation of SF,TRF and hepcidin. All the data were input SPSS16.0for statistical analysis.Result:BMI(24.57±3.04Kg/m2)、WHR(0.91±0.04)、SBP(133.95±17.64mmHg)、 FPG (7.90±3.04mmol/L)、TG (2.09±1.67mmol/L)、 FINS (13.38±7.27mIU/L)、 HOMA-IR (4.64±3.02) in the group of T2DM were significantly higher than that of normal control group. HDL-C (1.17±0.49mmol/L)、HOMA β-cell (55.81±35.84) were significantly lower than normal control group, and the differences were statistically significant.. The serum SF (5.84±0.69ng/ml)、TRF (13.32±5.88ug/ml) and hepcidin (13.51±4.49ng/ml) in the group of T2DM was significantly higher than that of normal control group, and the difference is statistically significant. in the group of T2DM, the level of the serum SF and BMI (r=0.78, P<0.78), WHR (r=0.452, P<0.001), FINS (r=0.495, P<0.001), HbAlc (r=0.372, P=0.372), SBP (r=0.473, P<0.473) and HOMA IR (r=0.473, P<0.001) were significantly positive correlation,but the level of SF and HOMA-βcell (r=0.415, P=0.001) was significantly negative correlation.The level of the serum TRF and WHR (r=0.500P <0.001)、TG (r=0.490P<0.001)、FINS (r=0.504P<0.001)、HOMA-IR (r=0.434P=0.001) were significantly positive correlation.The level of the serum hepcidin in the group of T2DM and WHR (r=0.508P<0.001)、TG (r=0.483P <0.001)、FINS (r=0.484P<0.001)、HOMA-βcell (r=0.386P=0.002) were significantly positive correlation,but the level of the serum SF and HOMA-IR (r=-0.456P=0.001) was significantly negative correlation.Conclusion:1. In the group of T2DM,the level of the serum SF, TRF,compared with normal control group,were significantly increased., but and hepcidin was significantly reduced.2. Iron store is closely related to T2DM, clinically characterized by insulin resistance and islet(3cell function, blood lipid, body fat, etc. Therefore, iron store are predictors of T2DM, can be used as the prevention of T2DM.
