Objectives: Discuss the affection of maxillary lateral incisors in skeletal class Ⅱpatients with lingual inclination on TMD symptoms through the Helkimo index.Methods: One hundred and nine patients in Stomatological Hospital of DalianUniversity were devided into two groups according to skeletal Ⅱ and skeletal Ⅱ withmaxillary lateral incisor lingual inclination malocclusion. Class II malocclusion groupof54persons (34males,20female), mean age15.05±3.47years, class II malocclusionwith maxillary lateral incisor lingual inclination of group of55persons (18males,37females), mean age15.72±3.38years. All the patients were healthy, no orthodonticand surgical treatment history and bad habits, a complete record.All the patients wereanalyzed by Helkimo index, the results of chi-square test.Results: Ai and Di index in the two groups are statistically significant(P<0.05).The relation of Ai classification and Di classification is statistically significant (P<0.05).The most common TMD symptom of the109patients is clicking (51.38%), followed bythe opening deviation (33.02%).Conclusion: Maxillary lateral incisor lingual inclination will exacerbations inpatients with TMD complained of symptoms and clinical examination, and clinicalpresentation with the chief complaint of highly relevant.
