Objective:To investigate the level of MMP-9and-1562C/T gene polymo rphism and type2diabetes in Yanbian area and carotid artery intima-media thi ckness (IMT) correlation..Research object:from Yanbian and50cases in the control group, type2diabetes group180cases, of which88patients without atherosclerosis of caro tid atherosclerosis,92patients with carotid atherosclerosis. Type2diabetes gro up according to the nationality and whether associated with carotid atherosclero sis were divided into4groups, namely the Korean arteriosclerosis negative in41cases, Korean arteriosclerosis was positive in52cases, Han arteriosclerosis negative in47cases, Han arteriosclerosis was positive in40cases.Methods:by using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) plasma MMP-9levels in patients with detection, and IMT of carotid artery were meas ured by color Doppler. Genomic DNA was amplified, purification, purified by DNA sequencing, genotyping. All data in Microsoft Excel2007database, using the SPSS17.0statistical software package for statistical analysis, the statistical i ndicators of normality and variance test, the statistical index of normal distribut ion with mean+standard deviation said, were compared between groups using t test, genotype, allele frequency by using the frequency calculation method, f requency were compared with the chi-square test, P<0.05for statistical sign ificance.Results:the type2diabetes1Yanbian area without horizontal MMP-9at herosclerosis group was higher than that of normal control group, the differenc e was statistically significant (P<0.05) was significantly higher than that in no rmal control group;the level of MMP-9in patients with type2Diabetes Ather osclerosis group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);the levels of MMP-9in patients with type2Diabetes Atherosclerosis group was signific antly higher than that in type2diabetes mellitus no atherosclerosis group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The comparison between Kore an and Han nationality in Yanbian District2, type2diabetes mellitus with ath erosclerosis and type2diabetes without atherosclerosis group, normal control g roups no significant differences in MMP-9levels (P>0.05). Type3.2diabetes without atherosclerosis group, the frequency of C/T+T/T genotype is higher tha n the normal control group, a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05); higher than the normal control group, atherosclerosis group, the freque ncy of C/T+T/T genotype in patients with type2diabetes, there is significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05); type2diabetes with atherosclero sis group, the frequency of C/T+T/T genotype with type2diabetes mellitus wi thout arteriosclerosis groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).4Korean a nd Han nationality in Yanbian area C/C, C/T+T/T genotype and C, T allele fr equency comparisons were not significantly different (P>0.05).Conclusions:with the correlation between1.MMP-9level and type2diab etes in Yanbian and the IMT of carotid artery. There is a correlation between2.MMP-9gene-1562C/T polymorphism and type2diabetes in Yanbian area I MT of carotid artery, but there was no significant difference between Korean a nd Han nationality.3T allele is a susceptibility gene for type2diabetic caroti d sclerosis.
