Objective: The objective of this thesis was about how to systematic evaluate theeffectiveness and the accuracy of BNP in predicting the cardiovascular accident inperioperative of no-cardiac surgery patient. Methods: Literature were collected by twoways: Firstly, through electronic search database such the PubMed, OVID, EMBASE,Wanfang Data, CNKI; Secondly, manual retrieve relevant literature and magazines, whichwere published during2000-2011. All the related data that matched the standards wereabstracted by two reviewers independently, the quality of the included trials was evaluatedaccording to the extraction and exclusion standard. Finally, RevMan5.0software wasused for meta-analysis. Results: A total of11trials involving3649patients were include.Comparing with the group of patients of having lower brain natriuretic peptide (BNP)level than the cut-off point, the group of patients with higher BNP level than the cut-offpoint may more inclined to experience the cardiovascular events, the difference betweenthe two groups was statistically significant [OR=27.54,95%CI=(17.49,43.35), P<0.00001], while N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) have the similarresult as the BNP [OR=19.53,95%CI=(13.54,28.17), P<0.00001]. Conclusion:Preoperative higher BNP and NT-BNP levels were good predictors to non-cardiac surgerypatient’s postoperative cardiovascular events.
