Studies On Chemical Constituents Of Three Medicinal Herbs From Yunnan Zhaotong

The Master paper dealed with chemical constituents of Gastrodia elata Blume,Phellodendronchinense Schneid var. falcatum Huang and Rubia cordidolia Linn.Eventually, the progresses of chemical constituents, pharmacological activities and theclinical application of Gastrodia elata Blume were reviewed.Chapter1Studies on the chemical constituents of Gastrodia elata Bl.The dried tubers of Gastrodia elata Blume is a famous and precious traditionalChinese medicine. Chinese scholars have carried out the deeply research of chemicalconstituents on Gastrodia elata since the1950s. Along with the development ofscience and technology such as instrument, chromatography material andidentification conditions, new compounds and active ingredients constantly isolatedfrom Gastrodia elata, which enriching the material and basic research.13compoundswere obtained and identified from Gastrodia elata tuber. Thus, according to thephysical and chemical properties, spectrometry and comparing to standard substances,the structures of these13compounds were identified as follows: gastrodin (1),p-hydroxybenzyl ethyl ether (2), vanilline (3), p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol (4),p-hydro-xybenz aldehyde (5),4,4’-dihydroxy-dibenzyl ether (6),4,4’-dihydroxy-dibenzyl methane(7),3,3’-dihydroxy-2,6-bis(p-hydroxybenzyl)-5-methoxybibenzyl(8),8-hydroxy-2-methoxyanthracene-1,4-dione (9),1-hydroxy-2-methoxyanthrax-cene-9,10-dione (10), β-sitosterol (11), β-daucosterol (12), palmitic acid (13). Amongthem, compounds8,9,10were isolated from Gastrodia elata Blume for the first time.Compound9is a new chemical constituent from nature products.Chapter2Studies on chemical constitutens of Rubia cordifolia L.The dried root and stem of Rubia cordidolia L. was common traditional Chinesemedicine. For the purpose of further understanding the components of ZhaotongRubiae radix et Rhizoma, a systematical study on its ethanol extract were conducted, and seven compounds have been obtained. According to the physical and chemicalproperties, spectrometry and comparing to standard substances, seven compoundswere identified and listed as follows: β-sitosterol (1), β-sitosterol-palmitate (2),alizarin (3),3β-acetyloxy-16β-hydroxy-12-oxoolean (4),3β-acetyloxy-olean-12-en-28-al (5), rubilactone (6), mollugin (7). Among them, compounds2,4,5were isolatedfrom this plant for the first time.Chapter3Studies on chemical constitutens of Phellodendronchinense Schneid var. falcatum Huang.Phellodendron chinense Schneid var. falcatum Huang belongs to rutaceaePhellodendron, and its dry bark can be used as Phellodendron chinense cortex. So far,there is no literature about the chemical constituents of Phellodendron chinenseSchneid var. falcatum Huang heartwood. For the purpose of enriching its material andbasic research, our team made a systematical study on this species, and24compoundswere isolated from its heartwood extraction. According to the physical and chemicalproperties, spectrometry and comparing to standard substances, all the compoundswere identified. The structures were listed as follows: obacunone (1), obaculactone (2),kihadanin B (3), shihulimonin A (4),(+)-catechin (5),3,4’,5,7-tetrahydroxy-8-pernylflavanone (6), phellodensin G (7),2,6-dimethoxy-benzoquinone (8), p-hydroxylphenethanol (9), p-hydroxyl-benzyl-propanol (10),1,4-O-diferuloylsecoiso-lariciresinol (11), cycloeucalenol (12), ursolic acid (13), canthin-6-one (14), berberine(15), palmatine (16), jatrorrhizine (17),6-hydroxystigmast-4-en-3-one (18), ergosta-6,22-dien-3β,5α,8α-triol (19),3-hydroxy stigmast-5-en-7-one (20), β-daucosterol (21),β-sitosterol (22), stearic acid (23), palmitic acid (24). Among them, compounds5,6,8,9,10,11,12,18and19were isolated from Phellodendron for the first time.Chapter4Research progresses on Gastrodia elata BlumeIn this chapter, the chemical composition of Gastrodia elata were systematicallysummaried according to the literatures reported. Meanwhile, its pharmacological andclinical application were also briefly summarized.
