Objective: this study is aimed at the relevance between treating facial neuritis inacute phase via acupuncture and facial Spasm and whether the introduction of treating it byacupuncture in the early stage can raise clinical effectiveness and shorten treatmentcourse. This subject will provide a basis for the best scheme of treating facial neuritis inacute phase as well as clinical reference. Methods: and content choose60patients with facial neuritis(acute phase) and dividethem randomly into treatment group and control group by Doll,s clinical observationtable, each with30patients. For the observation group, treat by acupuncture plus the Oraladministration of Methylcobalamin dispersible tablets and vitamin B1in acute phase aswell as electronic needling in the recovery phase. For the control group, give the Oraladministration of Methylcobalamin dispersible tablets and vitamin B1in acute phasewithout acupuncture and the recovery phase as well as after that is same to that of theobservation group with House-Brack-mann(H-B)evaluation system of facial neuritis asstandard, evaluate the conditions before and after the needling treatment as well as1week,2week,3week,4week after treatment, then put down the number of treatment of curedpatients.evaluate the conditions of cured patients of facial neuritis in both group30days,60days,90days,120days,150days,180days after curement by CohenALbret standard offacial Spasm. Results: H-B function evaluation system of facial neuritis result: the total effectiverate of observation group is100%, curing rate93%; the total effective rate of control groupis100%, curing rate80%; there is no statistical significance and by comparing the2groups(P>0.05)as well as by comparing symptom grading(P>0.05).but the total effective rate and curing rate of observation group has a trend of being higher than the control group;the number of cured patients in observation group is less than that of control group, there isobvious difference by comparison(P<0.01). There is no facial Spasm happening on theaffected side of facial neuritis patients in both groups during the6months of followingvisits after curement. Conclusion: there is no obvious relevance between treating facial neuritis in acutephase via acupuncture and facial Spasm and the introduction of treating it by acupuncturein the early stage can raise clinical effectiveness and shorten treatment course significantly.
