Objective: According to the systematical document collection and relevantinvestigation as well as the guidance of the fundamental theories of traditional Chinesemedicine, this essay aims to research the correlation between the pathogenic factors ofacne and the syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine, to discuss thepathogenic reasons and mechanism, to quantify the relative pathogenic factors of acneand to provide certain theoretical foundation for the treatment of acne.Method: To adopt the epidemiological method and design the uniforminvestigation form of epidemic disease and do the statistical investigation on theconditions of acne patients about their names, genre, age, genetic condition, type of skin,sleeping time, sleeping quality, diet, pressure, depression, anxiety, condition of usingcosmetics, and syndrome in TCM; to analyze the epidemiological features of thecorrelation between patients’genre and the pathogenic factors and of the correlationbetween syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine and the pathogenic factorsrespectively.Result: Clinical investigation indicates that genre, age, family disease history,sleeping conditions, diet preferences, pressure, depression,anxiety and cosmetics usingconditions have something to do with the occurrence and the aggravation of acne. Thereis significant correlation between genre, pressure,depression,anxiety and the syndromeof traditional Chinese medicine, and between the syndrome of traditional Chinesemedicine and patients’course of disease, anxiety,pressure,depression,type of facial skin.Conclusion: There is correlation between the TCM syndromes of acne and somecertain pathogenic factors. And the various syndromes have unique characteristics. Lifehabits and mental regulation play an important role in the occurrence, development andtreatment of acne, which should be paid much attention on.
