| Objective: To compare the influence of postoperative complications betweenpreserving or excising intercostobrachial nerve during the axillary lympha nodesexcision in breast cancer operations. Methods: A fully recursive literature search was conducted in PubMed(1990-2012),EMBASE(1990-2012),CBM(1990-2012),CNKI(1990-2012) and Coch-rane library in English and Chinese. All of the literature was about randomizedcontrolled trials of preserving or excising intercostobrachial nerve during the axillarylympha nodes excision. The outcomes we study were pain, numbness, hypoesthesia, recurrence and operation time. The quality of literatures were evaluated by tworeviewers independently.Statistical analysis were carried out by using RevMan4.2software.Results: Twelve studys were adopted and which included4English literaturesand8Chinese literatures,involved1640patients. After our analyse,we found comp-ared with excising intercostobrachial nerve, the patients preserving intercostobrachialnerve had lower incidence rate in pain[OR0.45,95%CI(0.26,0.77),P=0.004] andhypoesthesia[OR0.41,95%CI(0.25,0.65),P=0.0002],but no significant differencein recurrence, numbness and operation time. Conclusion: The study suggests that preserving intercostobrachial nerve duringthe axillary lympha nodes excision is batter than excising it in pain and hypoe-sthesia,but no significant difference in recurrence, numbness and operation time.preserving intercostobrachial nerve during the axillary lympha nodes excision canimprove the quality of life. |
