| [Objective] To evaluate the efficiency and safety of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) on open angle glaucoma (OAG) and ocular hypertension (OHT)[Methods]53eyes of31patients (30eyes of16cases with primary open angle glaucoma,6eyes of3cases with juvenile glaucoma,17eyes of12cases with ocular hypertension) were received Nd:YAG laser (Ellex Solo type) SLT treatment. Glaucoma drugs remained unchanged before and after laser treatment. After SLT treatment, intraocular pressure (IOP) were examined at1hour,1day,7days,1month,3months,6months,12months;24h IOP were reviewed at6months in20eyes of10patients which were received24h IOP examination before the SLT treatment; best corrected visual acuity, anterior chamber angle, fundus oculi (cup/disc ratio, C/D) and visual field were examined at12months.[Results] The pretreatment average intraocular pressure was (25.25±3.81) mmHg, and after SLT treatment, average intraocular pressure was respectively(21.64±6.22)mmHg,(16.21±4.51)mmHg,(18.00±2.70)mmHg,(17.66±2.36)mmHg,(18.04±2.38)mmHg,(17.98±2.81)mmHg and (19.85±2.92)mmHg at1hour,1day,7days,1month,3months,6months and12months, and the reduced intraocular pressure is statistically significant (P<0.001).24h IOP results showed that IOP reduction of all time points, IOP peak, valley, fluctuation, binocular difference were statistically significant (P<0.05).12months after SLT, best corrected visual acuity, eye ground (C/D) and field of vision was not changed significantly compared with preoperation(P>0.05), and no goniosynechia were found. Intraocular pressure reduction is related to preoperative baseline intraocular pressure and unrelated to age and type of glaucoma.1hour after SLT treatment,25eyes showed mild anterior chamber inflammation after treatment at1hour, and2eyes appeared corneal edema, but all disappeared after24hours.[Conclusion] SLT is a brand-new safe and effective solution for kinds of open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. |
