PurposeThis research project was to gain a deeper understanding of the influence of change of medial and lateral ligaments’tensity to extending knee. Body specimens of normal knee joint, artificially created out of medial and lateral ligaments of knee passive reduced model, so as to try to understand their tone changes impact on the knee extension exists, what impact? And to explore soft tissue balancing in total knee arthroplasty to offer a new research point.MethodCollection grown normal knee joint, sample number5cases. Each case of sample through blank comparison, sham-operation processing, the medial and lateral collateral ligament contraction, the medial and lateral collateral ligament shuts off four processing, and separately carries on the mechanics survey and draws up the mechanics diagram of curves. Metering equipment:MTS Bionix858hydraulic servo mechanical material testing machine, test method:put flexion of the knee specimen on top of fixture, the movement axle center of knee consistent with axle center of force arm of the test system. The traction device of power arm is fixed to the lower1/3of the test side calf. The rotational angle of the test:0°~115°, rotational speed:30°/second, surveys the target is:Torque (N×M). Result1st, in various groups:the normal and sham-operation groups’torque was not statistically significant, the mechanical curves without separation trend.2nd, two-sided ligament contraction group curve and normal group’s present the obvious separation trends, the contraction curve is above the normal group’s, which indicated that it extends the knee resistance to be bigger than the normal one, the groups’torque comparison has the Statistically significant difference.3rd, the two-sided ligament fracture group curve and normal group’s present the separation trend, the fracture curve under the normal’s, which indicated that it extends the knee resistance is smaller than the normal one, the groups’ torque comparison has the statistically significant difference.4th, from the mechanical curve:two-sided ligament contraction group’s resistance is significantly larger when extending knee finally end stage (Straight about20°-30°), and increases as the angle increasing.Conclusion1st, in knee, medial and lateral ligaments tension enlargement cause to extending the knee resistance notably increased.2nd, the disarticulation of medial and lateral ligaments(tension reduces) cause to extending the knee resistance notably reduced.3rd, when medial and lateral ligaments’ tension enlargement, the knee extension resistance significantly increased when extending knee finally end stage(Straight about20°-30°), the resistance increases with increasing angle.
