| Objective: Through character analysis and determination of effective components ofPolygalae herba at different development period, and comprehensive evaluation ofrelationship as well as mechanism between its growth and development process andeffective content accumulation, to provide basis for the establishment of medicinal qualitystandard of Polygalae herba.Methods: Adopting the routine methods to survey the plant morphology of Polygalaeherba at different development period and the characteristic of the medicinal material,utilized the microscopical observation to study the histological structure, and measuringthe content of effective components of Polygalae herba by HPLC.Results:1. In its different development period, the plant typeã€stemã€blossomã€fruitsand seeds of Polygalae herba were different, so as to study according to buding time,flowering time and seeding time.2. Not only there were Character differences of Polygalaeherba at different growth stages, but also the content of effective components had greatdiversities, during April to May, the content of total saponins and tenuifolin in Polygalaeherba reached reach the highest. However, its medicinal material had high yield duringMay to July, by comprehensive analyzing the quality and yield, the best harvest time ofPolygalae herba was from July to May.3. The determination conditions of tenuifolin inPolygalae herba was established witch based on measuring the content of tenuifolin byHPLC. Through comparative study on the quality of Polygalae herba from manyproducing area, the quality evaluation system was established.Conclusion: With comprehensive analysis of the plant morphologyã€medicinalmaterials charactersã€microstructure characteristics and the content of effective components,this study provided scientific basis for the quality evaluation and identification ofPolygalae herba. |
