Objective:This experiment, by comparing the expressions of SPARC and LN and its clinicopathological correlations in triple negative breast cancer with non-triple negative breast cancer, explores biological characteristics and significance of prognostic evaluation in triple negative breast cancer, provides theory basis for evaluation invasion and metastasis, treatment options and exploring targeted therapy in triple negative breast cancer.Methods:120cases of triple negative breast cancer(group A)and120cases of non-triple negative breast cancer(group B)were collected randomly in all operable breast cancer samples, which treated in department of breast of Xiangya Hosopital between Oct2010and Feb2012.All specimens have pathological diagnosis and ER, PR, HER-2immunohistochemical detection. An immunohistochemical method(steptavidin peroxldase, SP)was used to detect the expressions of SPARC and LN, and some clinical and pathological parameters were collected. SPSS19.0statistic software were applied to analyze the data. Results:1. The positive rate of SPARC in triple negative breast cancer and non-triple negative breast cancer were67.5%(81/120) and35.0%(42/120). The positive rate of SPARC in triple negative breast cancer was significantly higher(P<0.05)than those in non-triple negative breast cancer. Expression of SPARC associated with histologic classification, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P<0.05); but it has no relationship with age, menstrual conditions and tumor size(P>0.05).2. The positive rate(72.5%,87/120)of LN in triple negative breast cancer was significantly higher than that in non-triple negative breast cancer. The difference was significant(P<0.05). The positive rates of LN in triple negative breast cancer associated with lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P<0.05); but it has no relationship with age, menstrual conditions, tumor size and histologic classification (P<0.05).3. There were71cases in the triple negative breast cancer where the expression of SPARC and LN was positive simultaneously, the simultaneously negative were23cases. Spearman correlation showed that SPARC had a positive correlation with LN in triple negative breast cancer(r=0.264, P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The expressions of SPARC and LN in triple negative breast cancer are higher than that in non-triple negative breast cancer. And the higher expression is significantly related with invasion and metastasis of triple negative breast cancer.2. The expression of SPARC and LN in triple negative breast cancer is consistent, which indicates that SPARC and laminin might be important factor in angiogenesis of triple negative breast cancer.3. These results indicate that SPARC may be one of new targets for triple negative breast cancer therapy.
