Different Kinds Of Moxa Smoke Effects On Immune Function In Mice

[Objective]To observe the effects of different types of moxa smoke on immune system in mice, and evaluate the effects of moxa smoke on the immune system of mice by some indicators objectively.[Methods]At the first, we measured the clinic size, calculated the application amount of the three kinds of moxa, and established the environment of smoking for Kunming healthy mice. All the mice were randomly divided into four groups:blank group, antiquated moxa group, antiquated moxa, and medicine moxa group. The blank group were not gave any smoke, other three groups were daily smoked half an hour last for as long as4weeks in rooms separately, each with homemade moxa smoke made by different types of moxa. At the last, We executed all the mice, then detected and analyse the indicators of interleukin-2, interferon-y count, the thymus index and spleen index.[Results]1、Compared to blank group,there was no significant difference of the contents of interleukin-2, interferon-y count, the thymus index and spleen index in antiquated moxa group, pure moxa group, and medicine moxa group (P>0.05).2、Compared to antiquated moxa group, pure moxa group could increase the content of interferon-y count significantly (P<0.05). It had no significant difference of the contents of interleukin-2, the thymus index and spleen index between the antiquated moxa group and pure moxa group (P>0.05). There was no significant difference of the contents of interleukin-2, interferon-y count, the thymus index and spleen index between antiquated moxa group and medicine moxa group, between pure moxa group and medicine moxa group (P>0.05).[Conclusions] 1、In this experiment, compared with the blank group three moxa smoke, there was no significant of immune function in mice. Also from this aspect that moxa smoke did not inhibit immune function in mice, the mice did not cause harm.2、In this experiment, pure moxa group with so many content differences, it does not mean that pure moxa group can improve the immune function in mice, for single interferon-gamma content height can’t fully reflect the immune function enhance, and many substances produced by combusting antiquated moxa and pure moxa are not clear and needs further study, to explore the essence of the difference between them.
