Objective:To explore research progress of radiation induced bystander effect andclinical significance. Methods:The latest domestic and foreign literature was summarized and analysisedcomprehensively. Results:In vitro experiments showed that the radiation induced bystander effect(RIBE) is closely related with radioactive type, oxidative metabolism and gap junctionintercellular comminication; in vivo experiments showed that RIBE caused by theinflammatory response, radioactive source change, etc. In the clinical course ofradiation therapy, DNA damage is different between directly irradiated cells andbystander cells, and RIBE in accurate radiation therapy reflected more obvious thanconventional radiotherapy. Conclusion: A large number of experiments in vitro and few in vivo have failed tofully clarify the radiation induced bystander effect. Radiation dose and radiationcharacteristics need for more in-depth study. In vivo is not clear where needed depth.Expected to provide a theoretical basis for the optimization of Clinical Oncology andthe revision of the standard radiation therapy radiation protection.
