The Research On Self-identity Crisis Of Middle Age Patients With Chronic Diseases

The arrival of the chronic diseases have produced significant changes on the middle-aged chronic patients’daily life. This article regards middle age patients with chronic diseases as the object, trying to figure out the uniqueness of chronic patients identity crisis, analyze the evolution logic and the adaptation strategy of self identity crisis.Chronic patients identity crisis is special, due to great tension between the individual life cycle and the disease situation setting:one is the imbalance between critical period in life and disordered body; the other is the incongruity between maintaining social status and damaging body. Hence, the contradiction, which comes from the individual life cycle and the disease situation setting, appears "normal" outside and "disorder" inside as the identity crisis of middle age patients with chronic diseases.Social relations is dissimilated with the transformation of the modern society, the form and content of social interaction between people become more diverse than ever before. At the same time,"rationalization"-oriented pay more attention to instrumentality and contractual in social exchanges and interactions. Restrictions on their social activities due to disease, which affect the daily social interaction and interaction, leading to the change of social relations. And modern self-identity shows that self is on the basis of understanding of the self reflection through individual’s own experience, the change of the social relations constantly influence the understanding of self-identity. Therefore, the reorganize and reform of social relations based on chronic disease, have great impact on the formation self-identity, becoming the evolution logical of identity crisis at middle age patients with chronic diseases.Social adaptation theory about middle age patients with chronic diseases have developed cognitive theory model, self-regulatory model and coping theory model, and this article have summed up the general process in adaptation from psychological starting link, cognitive assessment link, operating practice link to reassessment link. At the way of return to self,"normal" and "self exposure" strategy choice have become the two different approaches adapting to the identity crisis of middle age patients with chronic diseases.
