Objective: To study if the maximum vertical load was difference whenbone cement were inpulsed by unilateral vertebral pedicle and bilateralvertebral p--edicle or normal saline on vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty. Methods: Select six embalmed vertebral specimens (T8-L5), free into48individual vertebrae were made into compression fracture model. All the spec-imens were divided into six groups.Group A and B applied unilateral KP andVP respectively, group C and D applied bilateral KP and VP respectively, G-roup E and F applied unilateral KP and VP with normal saline lavage verteb-ral body before the injection of bone cement.postoperative loading verticalagain, measured the maximum vertical load, recorded the results, using SPSSstatistical software for approximate t-test to compare the results.Result:There is no significant difference between the maximum verticalloads after VP group and KP group(group A and group B:t’=0.746,P>0.05;group C and group D:t’=0.312,P>0.05;group E and group F:t’=0.830,P>0.05).There is no significant difference between the maximum vertical loadsof unipedicular group and bipedicular group(group A and group C:t’=0.374,P>0.05;group B and group D group:t’=0.529;P>0.05).Whether using salinewater irrigation or not, postoperative vertebral maximum vertical loads haveno significant statistical difference (group A and group E:t’=0.821,P>0.05;group B and group F:t’=0.449,P>0.05).Conclusion: Unilateral or bilateral injection of bone cement did not effe-ct on the maximum vertical load, but the maximum vertical load was increase-ng after lavaging the specimens.
