Objective:To investigate the association of serum cystatin C level with the presence and severity of coronary heart disease. Methods:To select88patients undergoing cardiology coronary angiography (51males and37females) for the study in the Baogang Hospital, Inner Mongolia in March2012-in December2012. Based on the diagnostic criteria of coronary heart disease,88patients were divided into test group and control groups, including54cases of coronary heart disease in the test group,34cases with normal coronary angiography in the control group. To collect the clinical data of the both groups (such as gender、age、heigh、weight、medical history、 smoking history, etc.) for statistical analysis; to collect the patients’ blood in the early morning to test cystatin C、high-sensitivity C-reactive protein、 homocysteine、high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol for statistical analysis. Based on the results of coronary angiography, the test group were divided into three subgroup groups:single-vessel disease, two-vessel disease and multi-vessel disease, and compared among subgroups cystatin C levels, and Analyze the correlativity, evaluate the correlation of cystatin C and coronary heart disease, the severity of coronary heart disease.Result:1、serum cystatin C level of test group and control group comparisons:(0.72±0.08mg/1vs1.24±0.47mg/1, P<0.01.), There are significant differences between the two groups, test group has significantly higher cystatin C levels, to exclude other factors, serum cystatin C levels were positively correlated with coronary heart disease (r=0.24, P<0.05);2、Serum levels of cystatin C coronary heart disease subgroups:coronary single vessel disease subgroup and double vessel coronary artery disease subgroup:(1.07±0.40mg/l vs1.19±0.21mg/l, P<0.05.), there are significant differences between the two subgroups, two vessel disease subgroup has a higher serum Cys-C level than the single-vessel disease subgroup; double-vessel disease and coronary multivessel coronary artery disease subgroup (1.19±0.21mg/l vs.1.57±0.56mg/l, P<0.05), there were significant differences between the both subgroups, Cys-C levels of multivessel disease serum subgroup greater than two-vessel disease subgroup. The Spearman correlation analysis between Cys-C levels and coronary artery disease:r=0.48, P<0.01, the results suggest that with the increase of vascular lesions count, Cys-C increased;3、Correlation analysis of Cys-C and coronary heart disease Gensini score:positive linear correlation:r=0.78, P<0.05, the results suggest that higher Cys-C levels, Gensini score is higher. Conclusion:1、The results of this study suggest Cys-C might be one of the risk factors for coronary heart disease;2、Cystatin C was a useful marker to detect coronary artery disease, and Cystatin C level could reflect the severity of coronary arteriosclerosis.
