Objective: Investigate the value of the potential recuperation ratio toassess the long-term prognosis of cerebral infarction.Methods:22patients,who were diagnosed acute cerebral infarctionin the first Jilin university from January2011to September2013,werecollected. They all had new lesions on the DWI as the research objects. All the objects were under the magnetic resonance perfusion imaging(PWI) examination. We get the volume of corresponding region ofinterest on DWI and MTT levels by the application of computer software. The potential recuperation ratio, defined as PRR=penumbra size/(penumbra size+infarct size) is used to assess the prognostic in acutecerebral infarction.[2].The22objects get Barthel index score and mRSscore three months after the onset of the infarction. Patients were dividedinto two groups according to Barthel Index, Barthel index>60for thegood prognosis group, Barthel Index≤60for the poor prognosis group. We compare PRR between the two groups and study the correlationbetween PRR and mRS score difference of discharge from hospital and3month after the onset of the infarction. To research the correlationbetween PRR and long-term prognosis in acute cerebral infarction.Results:(1) In the good prognosis group PRR is0.88±0.07,in thepoor prognosis group PRR is0.71±0.10, the value of PRR in the goodprognosis is greater than the poor prognosis group(t=3.84, p<0.05), thereis a significant difference between the two groups.(2) There is a positivecorrelation between PRR and mRS score difference (discharge-the incidence of three months)(r=0.529,p<0.05)。Conclusion: PRR can be used as a predictor of long-term prognosisof acute cerebral infarction.
