OBJECTIVE:Use spiral CT three-dimensional reconstruction to measure Chinese calcanealanatomic data and explore its clinical significance.METHODS:Calcaneal spiral CT three-dimensional reconstruction of100Chinese adults(50malesand50females) were performed. The length, width, height of calcaneus and Bohler’s andGissane’s angle were measured.RESULTS CONCLUSION:The mean length, width and height of the Chinese calcaneus were respectively(74.60±5.06) mm.(29.71±2.93) mm and (45.23±4.46) mm in male group and (71.48±5.36)mm.(26.65±3.01) mm and (42.23±4.49)mm in female group. There were significantdifferences between the2groups in all the above parameters(P<0.05). There was nosignificant difference in the Gissane’s angle between this group(male:(123.3±8.5)°versusfemale:(122.7±8.9)°(P>0.05).The Bohler’s angle was respectively (35.98±4.34)°inmale group while (38.81±4.43)°in female group, with significant difference between thisgroup(P<0.05).The length, width and height data of Chinese calcaneus comparison withwestern differences statistically significant (P <0.05). Chinese adult Bohler ’s Angle andGissane’ s Angle measurement data with westerners is no statistical significance (P>0.05).
