| Objective:To analyze condyle movement pathways in adult patient of Angle Ⅲ with various mandibular divergence patterns and to evaluate the association between condyle movementMethods:Nongrowing patients of Angle III seeking in The Affiliated Hospital Of Medical College Qingdao University from January,2013to March,2014(n=60;ANB=-1.02°±0.48°,28women and32men),who had an average age of21.84±2.35years(range=18-25years),were stratifield in four subgroups based on cephalometric mandibular plane inclination to anterior cranial base (MP/SN):low=MP/SN≤29°(n=20); medium=29°<MP/SN<40°(n=20);and high=MP/SN≤40°(n=20).The condylar movement pathways were recorded by CADIAX Ⅲ.Group differences were evaluated with SPSS19.0(α=0.05).Results:The condylar movement pathways of normal people are similar to those of Angle Ⅲ but dfferent in extents.And the movement oranges of all kinds are different siginificantly among individual.The condylar movement pathways of both sides are not symmetric obsolutely during protrusion-retrusion and open-close movements.The condylar movement pathways of normal and Angle Ⅲ people are further in sagittal than in vertical and in vertical than in horizontal plane.With the people of Angle Ⅲ, both condyle of the high group has more movement than medium group and than low group in all direction during the movement of protrusion-retrusion.Both condyle of the low group has more movement than medium group and than high group in all direction during the movement of open-close movements. The left condyle of the high group has more movement than medium group and than low group, and the right condylar movement pathways are not different siginificantly in all directions during the movement of medioretrusion right. The right condyle of the low group has more movement than medium group and the right condyle of the medium group has more movement than high group only in horizontal plane during the movement of medioretrusion left,but in the other direction,the right condyle of the high group has more movement than the medium group and than the low group during the movement of the medioretrusion left.Furthermore,the left condylar movement pathways are not different siginificantly in all directions. These differencese are not siginificantly.Conclusion:There are some connections between the condular movement pathways and the mandibular divergence patterns.But there are not adequate evidences to prove the mandibular divergence patterns influence the condular movement pathways.lt needs to be study further. |
