Avian influenza caused by avian influenza A. Among many subtypes of influenzavirus, H5and H7are highly pathogenic subtypes of the influenza virus. In recents years, the avian influenza’s epidemic was outbreak. It can cause people’s serious illness andeven death, so the avian influenza bring a great threat to people’s health. It is urgent toresearch and development of new drugs to combat the avian influenza. In the early activity screening experiments, MDCK applied as a model to screensome traditional Chinese medicine. we found the Hypericum Sampsonii has strongactivity against the avian influenza. So we want to find the novel compounds to againstAI.Hypericum sampsonii is a plant of Hypericum genus. The herbs are widely spreadin many provinces of China. Besides, they was long been used by the folk people astraditional Chinese medicine to treat bleeding, heat. Hypericum sampsonii have varietyof activities and widely development prospects. To study the chemical constituents of Hypericum sampsonii, silica gel andSephadex LH-20column chromatography were used. Finally, thirty seven compoundswere isolated from the fraction of extract. By using various spectroscopic techniquesincluding1H-NMR,13C-NMR, HMBC and HMQC, these compounds were identifiedand elucidated as mollugin (YBC-1), octacosanol (YBC-2), physcion (YBC-3),triacontanoic acid (YBC-4), β-sitosterol (YBC-5),1,7-dihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone(YBC-6),1,6-dihydroxy-4-methyoxy-9,10–anthraquinone (YBC-7),1,7-dihydroxyxanthone (YBC-8), Betulinicacid (YBC-9),2,5-dimethyoxyphenol (YBC-10),tectoquinone (YBC-11),1,3-dihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone (YBC-12), toxyloxanthoneB (YBC-13),2-hydroxy-5-methyoxyxanthone (YBC-14), ethyl3,4-dihydroxybenzoate(YBC-15),2-methyl-1,3,6-trihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone (YBC-16), kaempferol (YBC-17), luteolin (YBC-18),2,6-Dihydroxy-4,3’,5’-Trihymethoxybenzophenone(YBC-19), benzoic acid (YBC-20),3-methylphydroxybenzoic acid (YBC-21),3,5-dihydroxyxanthone (YBC-22), daucosterol (YBC-23),2-hydroxyxanthone(YBC-24), neolancerin (YBC-25), friedelin (YBC-26), rubiadin (YBC-27), emodin(YBC-28), quercetin (YBC-29),2,4,6-trihydroxybenzophenone (YBC-30),2,5-dihydroxyxanthone (YBC-31),2-methyl-1,3,6-trihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone-3-O-α-rhamnosy(1â†'2)-β-D-glucoside(YBC-32), hyperoside(YBC-33), mangiferin(YBC-34),1,3,5-trihydroxyxanthone-4-sulfonate(YBC-35),1,3-dihydroxy-5-methoxyxanthone-4-sulfonate(YBC-36),1,3-dihydroxy-5-O-β-D-glycopyranosyxanthone-4-sulfonate(YBC-37).Compound YBC-19and YBC-35were novel compounds. Compounds YBC-1,YBC-3, YBC-7, YBC-11, YBC-12, YBC-16and YBC-32were isolated from thisgenus for the first time. Compounds YBC-6, YBC-14, YBC-22, YBC-24, YBC-25,YBC-27, YBC-30and YBC-31were isolated from this plant for the first time. Finally, the compounds were examined for the anti-H5N1actiivity. Among them, compound YBC-17show promising inhibitory at37.5μg/mL.
