had facial nerve palsy),2cases suffered a short-term mild hearting loss(1cases of thenhad tinnitus), and1cases had cerebrospinal fluid incision leakage. No permanentcomplications was complained in the follow-up imformation of the elely patient. Andthere is no overt differences with the Group Nonelderly for the postoperativecomplications(p〉0.05).The incidence of postoprative adverse reactions of the Group eldly was63.3%,significantly higher than the incidence of the Group noneldly(p<0.05). But thepostoprative adverse reactions did not affect the safety of MVD.Conclusion There is no significant statistically differences in postoperative MVDoutcomes (especially the initial/short-term outcomeresult) and complication ratecomparing the elderly patients to the nonelderly patients. The age is no an absolute orcertainty factors of the MVD results. In the same way, the postoperative complicationsrate and serious postoperative complications rate would not increase with the increasingage. For the eldly patients in good physical condition between65-75years old, thesafety of MVD should be fully affirmed and we advocated the application of MVD forthem. Percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation can be a replacement therapy forthe cases which can not tolerate the general anesthesia. We hold a cautious but notnegative attitude to the application of MVD for the patients aged over75. The treatmentoptions and the safety assessment of MVD for the patients aged over75were stillworthy of discussion.
