Objective: Exploring the best time point for acupuncture treatment with the relatedexperimental data in different acupuncture time interval on focal cerebralischemia-reperfusion rats by observing neurological function improvement anddetecting the Rock expressing activity in different acupuncture time interval on focalcerebral ischemia-reperfusion rats.Method:300adult Wista male rats were randomly divided into four groups, namelythe the sham operation group, blank group, the acupuncture group and the model group. Each group was divided into five subgroup with different time interval, namely6h,24h,48h,72h and2weeks. So there existed total20groups with15rats in each group. Weblocked the rats’ cerebral middle artery to create the focal cerebral ischemia model. The blank group, the sham operation group and the model group were sampled anddetected at the time point6h,24h,48h,72h and2weeks after the model created. Theacupuncture group were acupunctured at Baihui, Dazhui and Zusanli acupoint at thetime point6h,24h,48h,72h and2weeks after the model created, and then they weresampled and detected.Result: There was no significant difference between the Rock expressing activity ofthe blank group and the sham operation group (P>0.05). The Rock expressing activityof the model group (ischemia reperfusion at the time point6h,24h,48h and72h)increased significantly compared to the blank group (P<0.05), and there was nosignificant difference between them for the2weeks subgroup. Particularly, it reachedthe peak at the6h time point. There were significant differences between theacupuncture group and the model group (ischemia reperfusion at the time point6h,24hand48h)(P<0.05), the Rock expressing activity decreased mostly at6h time point, andthere was no significant difference between them at the time points among72h and2 weeks (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. Acupuncture can improve the neurological function deficit for the cerebral ischemiareperfusion rats, and the improvement is more significant in6hours.2. Acupuncture can inhibit the Rock expressing activity on cerebral ischemiareperfusion model rats, and the6h time point of acupuncture after ischemia reperfusionis the best treatment time, which can maximize the protection and improvement ofbrain tissue damage after ischemia.3. Acupuncture may be beneficial to the recovery process for the ischemia reperfusionneurological function deficit by reducing the Rock expressing activity, and it has somepositive effect in treating focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion during the acute phase.
