With the growth of the global economy and continuous commercial expansion, shaping "Image Force" is the most important measure of commercial competition in the information age; CI (Corporate Identity) is a kind of strategy, program and measure in shaping the image of one corporation or brand. VI (Visual Identity), which carries out the unified management inside and efficient propaganda outside from the view of the vision, expresses notion orientation of one corporation or brand in visual language and eventually shapes the distinct corporate image.Nowadays, while many corporations or brands carry out VI system, they stress the marks; the limitation of marks in application appears weak and can’t meet their application requirements. The reason of this conflict is that they are not aware of the development of visual image in applying VI system. In the basic part of VI, marks and supporting graphics are two graphic factors of visual communication system. Supporting graphics are in the affiliated position and ignored. In the theoretical area, there is no unified definition and there are rare studies about supporting graphics; in the application area, supporting graphics can’t be designed, developed and carried out efficiently so that corporations get negative influence in shaping their image.By taking supporting graphics as an object of the study and based on the design and position of supporting graphics in the current background, this paper stresses practical application of supporting graphics and interprets practical core of designing application purposes of supporting graphics from perfecting, rationalize and developing the corporate image. It also states designing application meaning of supporting graphics from identification and aesthetic value of the corporate image popularity of the corporate brand, and analyzes and prospects developing trend of supporting graphics by connecting scientific improvement to developing direction of the design.Design development of supporting graphics enriches aesthetic content of the corporate image. As supporting visual marks of graphics system, supporting graphics can help center marks create a stable environment according with the competition for the corporate developing. Meantime, with the complete application and interpretation, they can improve the degrees of people’s accepting, understanding and cognition, strengthen communicative permeability andBy analyzing supporting graphics in shaping and improving the corporate image, I hope people related to this industry can attach importance to the design and application of supporting graphics, promote the design and development of supporting graphics, and break through the limits of the communication in order to open up wider and more free space in visual communicative design for shaping and improve the corporate image.
