It has been argued that not enough attention has been paid to the pronunciation of Korean in the primary education. The standard Korean pronunciation teaching is the foundation of Korean language education. Therefore, teaching standard Korean pronunciation to students in elementary schools who has the most strong language imitating and learning ability can not only improve the standard pronunciation among pupils, but also attract more attention to Korean language itself. This paper, based on the voice date of the current situation of primary students’ Korean pronunciation, tries to analyze and summarize the causes of the mistakes in Korean standard pronunciation.First of all, after organizing the entries into reading material, the reading, mostly by six-grade students was recorded for the first time. Then new reading material was developed by taking into account the problems found in the first recording. The second recording was then conducted and analyzed. The second step is to compare the results from the two recordings with "The Standard Pronunciation of Korean". The result shows that in the pronunciation of vowels, students often confuse the pronunciati on of [H] with [(?)];[(?)] with [(?)],[(?)] with [(?)]; and [(?)] with [(?)]. While in the pronunciation of consonants, the common error s are found in:lateralization, consonant cluster simplification, addition.palatalization. However, in the usages of Korean pronunciat ion rules of glottalization, lenition, aspiration, only few students m ake mistakes. Finally, on the base of mistakes of pronunciation made by students in their daily lives, we summarized the causes in the following aspects:(1) the school environment and the pronunciation of teachers;(2) the home environment and the effect of dialects; and(3) the influence of Chinese. The research chose the primary school students in Panshi as the sample. We hope that the findings of the study can shed some lights on Korean pronunciation education in the future.
