| The Chinese-Korean writer Kim Hak-chol is known as the "Chinese-Korean Literary Mountain Range", and his unique works reflect this special status of dual identity. Research about Kim Hak-chol’s literary works generally has to do with literary criticism of his novels, but in fact since the mid-1980s, he based most of his time writing creative prose. From a linguistic point of view, the lack of analysis of his prose has always been a vacancy. This paper analyzes Kim Hak-chol’s collection of essays "Taihangshanlu" by two linguistic methods:by stylistic characteristics and stylistic means.The first part of the second chapter compares the two collection of essays "Taihangshanlu" and "Woniubande Shijie". High frequency nouns are compared from these two works set mainly in the1980s and1990s. Through the comparison of the high-frequency nouns, it is clear that there is an emphasis on both ethnic Koreans and Korean Volunteer Army members with prison experience. In addition, the high-frequency nouns t-score is calculated, a humanistic shift of across10years of changes and stylistic techniques can be detected.The second part of the analysis treats the difference between "natural" language and the use of Chinese characters from the etymology angle. Kim Hak-chol’s special emphasis on the use of natural language, the inherent language exudes ethnic flavor and adds a variety of national characteristics, except for the kanji which is widely used as part of the stylistic features.The third part analyses the holistic style used in "Taihangshanlu" idioms and sayings. By using lexical semantic stylistics and specific Chinese language idioms, Kim Hak-chol’s style can be described as a major feature of his literature. Chinese character proverbs which only exist in ancient Korean and some ancient word phrases are used, as if Kim Hak-chol’ s life experiences in Korea and China cannot be reasonably combined so closely. Sometimes the author creates his own vocabulary, as certain words used cannot be found in a dictionary or other literature, thereby reinforcing the characteristics of personal style. This article lists the two constituents of the vocabulary. The first is metaphor and the second is irony. Similes provide vivid descriptions to give a realistic image of certain effects; the irony of irony is emphasized the need to express the ideological content-a negative figure or phenomenon in the opposite set of a more outrageous mock effect.In addition to the vocabulary, the vocabulary order of articles reflect Kim Hak-chol’s stylistic approach. He repeatedly poses different units of words, phrases, sentences, lists, and contrast of love for better literary effect. Kim Hak-chol’s works focus on a variety of negative phenomenas in society, literary unhealthy practices of criticism and selfcriticism. He uses a variety of different techniques to emphasize the effect of critisism. Overall, he unlocks history, which is the true motivation for the social content of his creativity. An intense love for his ethnicity, love for his comrade-in-arms and love for his family is expressed by Kim Hak-chol and this is meant to warm the hearts and excite feeling of friends, and relatives and his own ethnic people. |
