On The Development Of Music Education In Three Of Gansu Region And Countermeasures

Northwest region in China has a civilized and long-standing history, and gathered many minority groups. As a major region in Northwest of China, the population of Gansu Province consists of45ethnic groups, has seven autonomous ethnic counties and39ethnic townships. The formation of ethnic music and culture of each nation has been through centuries of practical period, they keeping the universality, however, having their own independence. Thus, under this context, the music culture of the region enmerging a typical plural characteristics. Nonetheless, each nation cultivates diverse apporaches of traditional music forms in its unique historical development. As the major disseminating and promoting channels of Music culture, the connective feature of music education keeping traditional music culture can be inherited and promoted. Therefore, This article aims to clarifying the relationship between music culture and music education in Northwest regions by using Linxia county, Sunan County, and Huining County as case studies. Moreover, the paper will examine the ethnic composition, historical overview, traditional folk music form, music convention,overall educational circumstance and especially music education status quo in those three counties. Furthermore, under the current circumstance of music education, the examing content of this paper mainly concentrated on examing the opened situation of music courses, teaching facilities, qualification of teaching crews, the implementation of new curriculum and clarifying the position of traditional folk music in the music teaching activities, the examing approaches by using detailed referencing, field work, interview to collecting large amount of raw data and materials, on this basis, this article will analyses the current music education circumstance, further explore the value orientation of music education in the inherited tradition and pluralism. Lastly, the paper will sum up with rethinking and reorganizing music education in the region and relative solutions and recommendation will be given.
