The Study On Li Zehou’s "Four Period Of Confucianism" Theory

Since the middle of1980s, the modern neo-confucianism trend research becomea hot spot of academic circles in mainland China. Since the mid-1980-s to mid-90-this time, the research of modern neo-confucianism was conducted under theguidance of marxism. Before and after in the1990s, however, some scholars deviatedfrom the direction of marxism, they shift from researchers in modern newConfucianism as followers of the ideas, or even more, on the basis of those thought istrying to establish a new Confucianism in mainland which is different from HongKong and Taiwan’s groups. After nearly a decade of preparation, they developed into avariety of "Confucianism" in the mainland. For their thoughts and academic work,scholars have conducted a study from different angles.Scholars in the mainland "new Confucianism", there is a special, he is not only afamous philosopher and aesthetician in contemporary China, but also try to under theguidance of marxist study of traditional Confucianism and play. The scholar is Mr. Lizehou. his creative work of Confucian ideas, summarized as "four period ofConfucianism". Li zehou has put forward the theory, primarily based on two reasons:one is for Hong Kong and Taiwan new Confucian scholars of the three periods ofConfucianism, which is not only goes against the history of the development ofConfucianism, but also there is a mistake on the cognizance of the connotation ofConfucianism (Hong Kong and Taiwan new Confucian scholars believes that theessence of Confucianism as "inwardness ontology", li zehou thought is "emotionalnoumenon"); Second, he combine the actual requirement of the development ofChinese modernization, in his view so as to realize the goal of China’s modernization,to the fine tradition of Confucianism (attaches great importance to the real life,attaches great importance to the construction of humanity) for "transformation tocreate".During the study in this paper,with "combination of theory and history " as the basic principle, it mainly adopts two kinds of research methods——literaturestudy method and category method. It mainly includes three aspects: the first part isthe summary of Confucianism development history of li zehou research results,including analysis summary of the studies on the original Confucianism, qin and handynasties Confucianism, neo-confucianism, the modern new Confucianism; thesecond part is analysis of li zehou in essence Confucianism ideas, including the deepstructure of Confucianism, Confucianism of "philosophy and religion, ethosconnoted tendency of ideological content; the third part is the research about li zehou‘s "Four period of Confucianism", including "Four period of Confucianism" origin,ideological tendency, main content, etc. Among them, the first part mainly discusses lizehou construct "Four period of Confucianism" academic preparation, the second parttells the thinking foundation of li zehou construct "four period of Confucianism", thethird part is about the main contribution of his "Four period of Confucianism".In order to solve the problem of China’s modernization,"four period ofConfucianism"combine the Marxism and the ideological content of Confucianism,which is one of the important content of contemporary Chinese philosophy. Study ofthis theory, has important theoretical significance and practical value.
