Impressionism is a style of art in nineteenth Century at the Europeancultural center of France. It is embodied in the painting as color light—stressingImpressionist paintings; while in the music, it is the timbre—stressingImpressionist music.Impressionist painting belongs to the spatial art, visual art, impressionistmusic belongs to the art of time, art of hearing. Although their existence and themode of perception is different, but they have commons in many aspects. Thisespecially on light color attention in the impressionist painting and on timbrestressed in the Impressionist music; this phenomenon is essentially an generallyattention of art form itself performance in impressionist painting and musicworks.This phenomenon as the starting point, to find the deep reason: starting fromthe respective characteristics of impressionist painting and music, try to explainthe general characteristics of the two; analysis of the spirit of the times andcustoms of that, in order to understand the nature of the artist’s thoughts andworks; and from the angle of Anthropology and sociology, explores the sourcesthe similarities and differences of the impressionist painting and music. Finally,based on the present, seek the realistic significance of the study.
