Research On The Choices Of Themes On The Documentaries

With the entrance of Chinese documentaries into the market era, there is an increasingvariety of selections for documentary themes. Binging about prosperity of the documentarymarket, the communication worth of documentary themes has become a critical element decidingwhether the documentaries are capable of occupying certain market and demonstrating the valueof our proper culture. However, inconsistent with importance of themes, the neglected study aboutthe documentary themes of domestic scholars results in inappropriate drawn materials thatconstantly lead to ineffective, even adverse communication, which is not only resource-wasting,but also gives rise to long-term deficiency of prophase link of themes‘selection in the study aboutdocumentaries’correct process. Therefore, it is innovative and effective to study about selection ofdocumentary themes at this moment.To achieve the object of comprehensively commanding the selection processes ofdocumentary themes and supporting appropriate references for the creators, this academicdissertation starts with two processes of themes’ selection, intensively sorting selection tendenciesin the history of Chinese documentaries. Afterwards, in terms of commerce, aestheticcharacteristics, and cultural environment, it attempts to explore international perspectives, internalunification of particularity and universality of themes, and the relation between themes and theagenda-setting theory, as well as the core measure of themes’ selection including the compoundinfluence of cultural selection and debugging, to set up common measuring standards for themes.It also performs analyses of the deviation inclination existing in realistic themes at this stage,pointing out its feature, origin and harm, as well as the right way back on track, in order to resolvesystematically and comprehensively the long-term confusing issue that has kept documentarycreators from selecting correct themes.
