Language is the most important communication tool in the world like social, political,economic, and cultural development. In recent years, with the interaction between theeconomy and culture between different countries and nations new words emerged. Newwords would inevitably lead to the attention of language scholars. Research on the topic ofnew words or known as neologism, has become an important part of language studies andhave made a lot of achievements.Both, Korea and China have similarities in culture. Since the increase in exchangebetween the two countries in the1980s, the comparative study of language and culturebetween China and Korea started. However, the initial comparative study of languagelacks of bilateral comparative study on neologism, and that is the main intention andobjective of this study. Neologism is becoming more and more important but at the sametime it makes it more difficult for foreign students to study and understand a foreignlanguage. New words and expressions emerge, sometimes confusing because theirfast-changing meanings that contribute to increasing students’ confusion.This paper studies neologism in two countries and analyze the linguistic characteristic ofthe language and the difference by employing Classification Analysis.Thus, the study identifies the generation, causes, types and features. This paper is dividedinto5parts.Introduction, the first part, includes the research background, objectives and methods.The second part analyzes the generated causing and language characteristics.The third partclassifies neologism in the two countries in study while the fourth part explores thepositive and negative impacts of the new words of the mother tongue.In the last part, Imade a reference of the prospects of neologism and related issue, and mention the attitudethat how can we treat new words. I hope this will help Korean students in learningChinese.
