Family education and personality traits is external, internal factors influencing academicachievement. Parenting way of family education is a kind of typical integrated behavior andattitude, time management disposition is a stable personality. Through previous studies,parents upbringing and time management disposition effect on academic performance is notthe same as a result, few scholars pay close attention to as parents way of external factors,internal factors of time management disposition whether joint affect academic performance.The urban and rural areas social environment’s influence on the ways of parents teaching willaffect its effect on academic performance.With the above problems, this study with junior high school students is combined withanalysis of variance, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and the mediation functioninspection method for data processing. Examines the urban and rural junior high schoolstudents’ parenting style, time management tendency of development, this paper discusses theways of parents teaching, the relations between time management disposition and academicperformance. It has been clear that the parents’ upbringing and time management dispositionhave an effect on academic performance prediction. It is examined that the time managementtendency is play a mediating role between parenting and academic performance. What’smore,urban and rural variables is play the regulating role in the relationship between theparenting style and academic performance.Research conclusions are as follows:1. There is significant difference for the parenting style in sex, grade, parents’ education,family, urban and rural variables.2. Time management tendency has no significant gender differences, grade difference issignificant.3. For academic performance, there is significant gender differences, the girls’performance is significantly higher than the boys’; Urban and rural difference is significant,too. The city grade rural junior high school students is significantly higher than in junior high school students.4. There is relationship between academic achievement and parenting styles.Positiveparenting styles is significant positive correlation with academic performance, negativeparenting is significantly negative correlation with academic performance.5. Time management disposition and three dimensions are positively related to theacademic performance.6. Positive parents upbringing is positively related to time management disposition,negetive parents upbringing is negatively related to time management disposition.7. Urban and rural differences play a regulating role in parents’ negative parenting and inacademic achievement.8. Time management tendency play a intermediary role between parents’ positiveparenting and academic achievement.
