The piano concerto Yellow River, one of the most influential works inChinese piano concerto, is adapted from the large-scale vocal divertimento of the YellowRiver Chorus by Yin Chengzong, Chu Wanghua, Sheng LiHong, and Liu Zhuang collectively.The Yellow River Chorus is conducted by people’s musician Xian Xinghai. Because theworks Yellow River has very high popularity both at home and abroad, it becomes one of therequisite works both for the famous pianist in their concerts and for the piano major studentsin their practice. Even many piano lovers are very familiar with its melody. What’s more, theaudio and video data of the piano concerto Yellow River can be seen everywhere in all majorbookstores. In other words, this works has an important position both in China and in theworld, and it has great influences on the history. Therefore, the elaborate research on theworks can not only make us understand the past and remember the history, but also help us toexplore the inner meaning of the works from many angles and fully excavate its potentialcharacteristics and artistic value through the symbol information in the music score.In the paper, the author selects the accompaniment music elements in the piano concertoYellow River as her view of research. Through the detailed analysis of the accompanimentpart, the author makes a conclusion of its typical characteristics so as to find the deeper artvalue contained in the works.The paper is divided into four chapters. Chapter1mainly introduces the creationbackground of the piano concerto Yellow River and presents an analysis of its musicnoumenon. In the second chapter, the author makes an analysis of the accompanimentelements in the piano accompaniment part from four aspects--beat figure, the accompanimenttexture, its supplement and development for the melody, and the application of harmony. Thethird chapter starts with the relationship between the band and the piano accompaniment tointroduce three main relationships--the band and piano concertato medium, Kanadeai, andensemble. Chapter4sums up the representative accompaniment music elements in the works, and gives some suggestions on their application in the impromptu accompaniment for theworks of vocal music.
