| With the growing of the economic influence of China in the world, the number ofpeople who learn Chinese around the world is increasing year by year. ConfuciusInstitute, the new organization that is used to teach Chinese abroad and spreadChinese culture, arises at the historic moment, but new things are always gropingforward continuously in the twists and turns. In order to provide some advice for thefuture development, more and more domestic scholars began to study on Chineselanguage teaching of Confucius Institutes around the world.Taking Chinese as a second language teaching and education psychology theoryas the instruction, and investigation, questionnaire survey as the main researchmethods, this paper analyses Chinese teaching situation of Confucius Institute ofRicardo Palma University in multiple perspectives, including curriculum, teachingmethod, students’ information, faculty and so on, then summarizes the achievementthat the Confucius Institute has got since it set up. Meanwhile we also found someproblems during the investigation, and then put forward some suggestions to solvethese problems, hoping that these could promote the sustainable development ofConfucius Institute.This paper obtained the first hand information about the Confucius Institute ofRicardo Palma University through the author’s field research.
