Essay belongs to the language art, and woodcut belongs to plastic art, the various kinds of difference which are exist in the external form, but in terms of internal form, there are many similar characteristics. Woodcut elements penetrated into the narrative of Lu Xun’s essays, and left many indelible marks in kinds of artistic skills, such as the structure of aesthetic, artistic modeling, black and white color and language strategies, so the woodcut and Lu Xun’s essay formed a relationship as "mirror and image". This paper elaborates isomorphism theory to analyze and discuss the unique aesthetic qualities of Lu Xun’s essay by centering on the color, composition, modeling and speech of Woodcut elements, thus it is not only a way to the art world of Lu Xun’s essays, but also it is a important way to the Lu Xun’s spirit world.We have to deeply discuss the relationship between Lu Xun and woodcut before we analyze the homogenous elements of woodcut and the narrative of Lu Xun’s essay. Then, is the wood carving art effects the aesthetic mentality of the Lu Xun’s creation, or the aesthetic psychology of Lu Xun’s creation impacts on the advocacy of woodcut movement? It is no doubt that choosing any one of them to discuss will make research into partial. There is a two-way relationship between the woodcut and this remarkable litterateur and artist.
