A New Era Of Research On Chinese Homosexual Web Literature

The phenomenon of homosexuality as a special sexual orientation and emotion pattern has always existed quietly in the corner of societies. With the progressive development of human society and gradual changes in sexual ethics and sexual attitudes, especially since the gay rights movement in the1960s, this pattern of behavior has started to receive widespread attention. In the field of literature, many writers are using the theme of homosexuality with the help of the virtual space provided by the Internet, in order to attract many readers. The Internet has built a good space for the creation of homosexual literature, as well as helping the term "Gay Literature" circulate around Internet literary circles, further helping it to become fixed as part of existing literary writings.This papers key emphasis is on analyzing and discussing the main stylistic and growth characteristics of a new era of Chinese homosexual Web literature, from the three perspectives of ideological content (including the author’s psychology and attitudes), artistic characteristics and social development.(The homosexual Web literature analyzed and discussed in my paper focuses on that in the Mainland China, and does not include Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and other areas overseas). At the same time, in analyzing the characteristics of growth in Chinese homosexual Web literature, this paper also investigates the trend in the growth of the homosexual phenomenon in China. More specifically, the main aim of this paper is to display the main characteristics of growth in the new era of Chinese homosexual Web literature, whilst also displaying how the growth in this literature reflects the different stages in the growth of a Chinese sub-homosexual culture in Mainland China, and moreover simultaneously display how Chinese homosexual Web literature has the potential become a part of mainstream literature in China. Furthermore, although this paper has a large focus on the entire conditions surrounding the creation of Chinese homosexual Web literature revealed from the genres overall growth, part of which includes the discussion on the mutual relationship between the reflection of "love" and "desire" in Chinese homosexual Web literature, nonetheless from the homosexual stories analyzed and discussed in this paper simultaneous messages on the growth of the Chinese homosexual sub-culture in Mainland China can also be found. This paper thus contributes to the exploration of the overall overview of the involvement of the homosexual phenomenon in a new era of development in Contemporary Chinese Literature and Chinese society.
