The Research On Characteristics Of Artistic Expression Forms Of "the Most Beautiful Books Of China" In2012

In the selection activity of The Most Beautiful Books of China organized by ShanghaiPublication General Bureau,208excellent design works have won the prizes till now. Theactivity chooses the design books with the beauty of Chinese books most to join in thecompetition The Most Beautiful Books in the World in Germany. By researching on the workswinning prizes in2012, the paper intends to find out the artistic expression characteristics of20prize-winning books in2012. The paper is divided into four parts: Chapter One refers tointroduction that mainly demonstrates subject significance and academic background. The otherthree chapters include the evolution of The Most Beautiful Books, the analysis of artisticexpression of Chinese Books prize-winning works and innovative uses in my book designs.Chapter Two introduces the evolution of The Most Beautiful Books of China and The MostBeautiful Books in the World, in order to present the background of these two activities; InChapter Three, based on the analysis and research of historical development,20prize-winningworks of The Most Beautiful Books of China in2012are classified and researched. The booksare divided by nature into seven categories: fine arts, literature, science and technology, children,social science, traditional Chinese furniture as well as food and traveling, the artistic expressioncharacteristics of which will be deeply researched. And the artistic characteristics ofprize-winning works of The Most Beautiful Books of China can be summarized throughbooks’ cover, page, color, format and font etc. At last, the paper sums up the designcharacteristics of artistic forms of books, and demonstrates the features of the beauty of Chinesebooks that will be shown by the application of traditional elements to modern books; ChapterFour mainly involves how my design concept forms and how to apply the artistic expressionforms in book design to my graduation project.
